After a few months of poking, proding and testing we're very pleased to say that the Viaduct platform now fully supports IPv6 across the whole platform (including your applications, myViaduct & WebPush)
What does this mean?
In practice, this should make no difference to the way your application works. However, it will now be accessible to anyone who only has IPv6-connectivity.
With the shortage of IPv4 addresses, we felt it was important that our service was completely future-proof and adding complete IPv6 support is a huge step forward for us and our users.
Do I need to do anything?
There's nothing you HAVE to do at all but you may want to check the things below.
If you have configured any of your applications to use a custom domain and then set up your own A record manually, you will need to add an additional AAAA record to enable IPv6 on your network.
In order to add IPv6 to your backend processes, you just need to re-deploy your application or restart any production databases.
Finally, you may find that your appliation starts talking to the internet over IPv6 rather than IPv4. This means that that the IP address which your application communicates from may change. You can find your IPv6 subnet from the application general settings page in myViaduct.
